Matt Nelson, President and CEO

Our CEO brings over 20 years of wireless technology business and marketing experience. He has proven management skill with multiple fortune 500 companies. At his previous position he introduced a number of wireless industry first-to-market products and was responsible for marketing, strategic planning, and strategic partnerships. He has successfully launched several revolutionary wireless products for Avocent, Motorola and 3COM. He holds a patent in wireless computing, a BS in computer information systems and a MBA from Regis University in Colorado.

Mike Derby, Chief Technology Officer and Founder

Mike has more than 16 years of experience in the wireless technology sector with nine of those years at wireless startups. He was a prior voting member at IEEE 802.11 and 802.15 meetings. Mike founded AvaLAN Wireless in 2004 and has lead the development of the company’s core technology and has guided the company’s steady growth in profitability. Mr. Derby’s postgraduate degrees include a master’s in engineering from Clarkson and an MBA from Cornell University.

Dusty Pritchett, Chief Financial Officer

Dusty is a partner with Harvest Business Advisors, LLC. He has over 30 years management experience in accounting/finance, mergers and acquisitions, marketing and strategy. Dusty was a senior executive with Avocent Corporation (Nasdaq AVCT) for 10 years and held the position of Chief Financial Officer, Chief Marketing Officer and Chief Strategy Officer during his tenure. He led the merger between Cybex Computer Products Corporation and Apex, Inc. in 2000 and led the acquisition, due diligence and integration teams for numerous other acquisitions. Prior to joining Avocent, Dusty was the Chief Financial Officer for Barber Dairies, Inc. where he led several acquisitions and the exit sale of the business to Dean Foods Corporation in 1998. He began his career in the Birmingham, Alabama office of Coopers & Lybrand, now PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP where he served as the engagement partner on numerous clients in the manufacturing, healthcare, high tech, retail and financial industries.
